From the founders of fintel

Our mission

Scale AI adoption in finance by addressing the overlooked bottleneck: there is no credible framework to quantify AI performance and risk in a financial context. Coding agents are systematically evaluated by AI labs. Who is doing that for financial agents — when the stakes are even higher?

Our story

Our founders came from BlackRock as systematic investors and AI builders. We have seen — and led — more financial AI deployments than any other investment firm in terms of scale, diversity, and impact. While we were deploying agents en masse, we noticed the challenge in understanding and trusting AI in high-stakes environments. To put it simply: how can you systematically assess which AI is actually reliable and better in the financial context?

We went searching for a scalable solution and found none. The industry is largely building AI agents on intuition, scattered evals, or generic benchmarks designed by those without skin in the game. Worse, we saw how AI-specific risks — in particular LLM stochasticity and hallucinations — were barely recognized. These will cascade into investment risks when AI becomes an integral part of the investment process. So we decided to build one ourselves.

Our inspiration

In the early 2000s, BlackRock introduced Aladdin which enabled the industry to scale the quantification of investment risks. The success came from the pioneering spirit and credibility - there is skin in the game. We strive to do the same for AI performance and risk to usher in the new era of AI investing.
